چکیده

The current study is an assessment of the Al-Tawsseea Cement Plant, located in northwest Iraq, Nineveh. This plant produces Ordinary Portland grade 42.5R according to I.Q.S No(5)/2019. was chosen determine mineralogy using X-Ray Diffraction and Scanning Electron Microscope before after hydration. Physical tests were carried out such as Fineness Test (Blain) ( 331.4) M2/Kg, Soundness (Autoclave) 0.1% Compressive Strength (2 Days 22.35 N/mm2 28 47.81 N/mm2) Setting Time (Initial 150 Min Final 3:10 Hours) all physical are within requirements limits XRD analyses revealed that studied cement composed alite, belite, ferrite, aluminate which indicate good burning cooling processes, while hydration paste CSH, CH, Ettringite. Scaning showed microstructure, characterized by intensive intergrowth hypidiomorphic crystals belite (spherical oval shape) less but bigger than alite. After hydration, microstructure became dense calcium-silicate hydrate (C-S-H ) formed a lathe-like shape fill pores gave hardness compressive strength. pore diameters ranging from 9.9 more 15.9 µm. They look like circular or irregular randomly distributed decrease density, strength paste. According results test we can say it possible raise Al-Tawseea Plant 42.5R) increasing proportion calcium raw materials mixture specification. will lead increase value LSF C3S responsible for

Ice nucleation by ordinary Portland cement

Portland cement was studied for its nucleating ability by the freezing behaviour exhibited of drops produced from aqueous suspension of Portland cement vis-a-vis of drops produced from suspensions of AgI, 2AgI.NaI and PbI,. I t is revealing to note that, at temperature colder than 5"C, Portland cement is as potent an ice nucleant as is either 2AgIaNaI or PbI,. At temperatures approaching 5"C, P...

Effect of Nano-SiO2 on the Hydration and Microstructure of Portland Cement

This paper systematically studied the modification of cement-based materials by nano-SiO₂ particles with an average diameter of about 20 nm. In order to obtain the effect of nano-SiO₂ particles on the mechanical properties, hydration, and pore structure of cement-based materials, adding 1%, 3%, and 5% content of nano-SiO₂ in cement paste, respectively. The results showed that the reaction of na...

Hydration Study of Ordinary Portland Cement in the Presence of Zinc Ions

Hydration products of Portland cement pastes, hydrated in water and in the presence of zinc ions were studied comparatively at different ages. Hydration products were studied by X ray diffractions (XRD) and infrared spectroscopy (IR). Although IR is not frequently used in cement chemistry, it evidenced a new phase Ca(Zn(OH) 3 ) 2 . 2H 2 O formed during cement hydration in the presence of zinc. ...

Hydration Study of Ordinary Portland Cement in the Presence of Lead(II) Oxide

The aim of this work was to investigate the effect of the addition of lead(II) oxide on hydration heat and specific conductivity of a CEM I Portland cement. The heat released during hydration was determined by differential microcalorimetry up to 48 hours of hydration and the specific conductivity by a digital conductometer. Thermogravimetric analysis was employed in the characterization of the ...

Solidification/Stabilization of Lead Contaminated Soil Using Magnesia Phosphate cement and Ordinary Portland cement

Background and objectives: Solidification/stabilization is an effective technique for reducing the leachability of contaminants in soils. Magnesia phosphate cement and ordinary Portland cement can be used to remediate soils contaminated. In this study, the performance of the solidified/stabilized soil was compared for mixtures composed of magnesia phosphate and ordinary Portland cement. Materia...
